Military Quantum Stealth - A quantum sensor uses the principles of quantum physics. According to DSB, this is the most mature military application of quantum technology and is currently "mission ready". Quantum sensing could provide many enhanced military capabilities. For example, it could provide alternative positioning, navigation and timing options that would theoretically allow the military to continue operating at full capacity in environments where GPS is degraded or GPS is not enabled.
Hyperstealth is developing a contingency plan for Quantum Stealth (light bending material) to allow the company to bring a version of it to the global commercial market if the US military is unable to access it for some reason.

We just learned this morning that the US military's requirement for lightweight, passive (non-powered) adaptive camouflage has now been withdrawn. No reason was given. Along with news of the patent application, Hyperstealth released more than 100 minutes of footage describing and demonstrating the material — and if the press release doesn't clarify that the military is the company's target customer, the footage does.
The patent includes 13 different versions of the material, which are tailored to conceal larger objects, patterned for use when hunting, or can distort an object in the event that it cannot be fully concealed. Quantum applications rely on a number of key concepts, including superposition, quantum bits (qubits), and entanglement.
Superposition refers to the ability of quantum systems to exist in two or more states simultaneously. A qubit is a computer block that uses the principle of superposition to encode information. (A classical computer encodes information in bits, which can represent the binary states 0 or 1, while a quantum computer encodes information in qubits, each of which can simultaneously represent 0, 1, or a combination of 0 and 1. Thus, the power of a quantum computer increases exponentially with the addition of each qubit.)
The military applications are endless. The Quantum Stealth website describes several situations in which it can be used, such as stealth landings on a beach, providing cover for downed pilots, even hiding an entire fleet of tanks.
